Managing Health Care Expenses in Retirement: What Baby Boomers Need to Know About Medicare and Long-Term Care

What Baby Boomers Need to Know About Medicare and Long-Term Care

Medicare Open Enrollment Begins Friday, October 15th .

Beginning Friday, October 15th, all clients that are age 65 years old or older AND who are enrolled in Medicare will have their annual six-week period of affirming or changing their Medicare health insurance options.

Open enrollment occurs every year between October 15th and December 7th. This period of time is a great feature of Medicare, as it allows people that are ALREADY receiving Medicare to review their coverage to determine whether to “stay or to go.” What this means is if your health situation has changed and/or you’re not happy with your current provider(s) or the medications you need are no longer covered in your current plan, you get a “do over.”

This has been extremely important for Medicare enrollees in the past and should also continue in the future.

However, there are some commons pitfalls that we want to make you aware of, so, we recently recorded a Medicare Webinar for you to watch if you have questions and/or concerns about Medicare and its’ enrollment period.

So, if you have made a mistake in the past with your Medicare choices or have had some changing health conditions, it is imperative to review your options to see what is available.

We hope you enjoy the Medicare Webinar. Please, forward the link to anyone else that you know that is on Medicare right now and maybe looking to become more educated about the available options.
